Modernmurri Women Walking Artwork Tea Towel

Designed and printed by Suzy Evans, the Women Walking artwork tea towel shows figurative representations of women as they move across Country. Blue lines represent the women walking across water, the ochre lines show them walking across land. 

Suzy Evans is a Gomeroi woman born in North Sydney in 1964. She spent the best part of her childhood around the harbour foreshore. From a young age Suzy’s mother and father instilled in her a love of Country. Her father would take her to see the carvings and middens of Sydney.

Suzy has been a practicing artist for 30 years and has had her work exhibited in the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards Telstra in Darwin and on NAIDOC banners for City of Sydney in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
