Oiseau et Renard Maxi’s Block Shiraz 2023

The block this fruit comes from has been organic farmed since day one. It’s from a beautiful site not far off the ocean in McLaren Vale, and the wine is lovingly tended, gently made, rendering the wine soft and supple, dark fruited, luxurious in its earthy spice elements and yet curiously fresh and energetic too. It defies regional staples of shiraz from the region, being plush but also cool, vibrant and spicy, layered with red fruit and generally more ‘syrah’ than anything. Perfumed, elegant, mid-weight red of impeccable character.
