All callet, this comes from older vines, pre-phylloxera indeed, scraggly looking things in a carpet of organic matter. Old, large format oak employed.
Has some meaty, gamey qualities but the mainstay is incredibly bright, tart cherry fruitiness, all wrapped up in saline minerality and light, powdery granite tannin profile. Quite precise, indeed, exceptional length of flavour and persistence of red fruit and dried herb quality with brine trailing through. This is beautiful, superb in its lighter weight and general sense of character-filled drinking in a gentle framework. - The Wine Front
