Bangarang was the battle cry of the Lost Boys in the movie Hook, immortalised when Robin Williams as Peter Pan used it to call them for help. The movie was a childhood favourite of Mosse boys, Joseph and Sylvestre. Pineau d'Aunis and cabernet franc combine for a bright red crunchy wine. It'll prep you for anything the world has to throw at us!
Bangarang is a négoce cuvée, made each year to sit somewhere between a rosé and a light red. Always sourced from the same grower in Faye d'Anjou, the vines are about 30 years old, from a mix of soil but mostly influenced by schist. It is a blend of 40% Pineau d'Aunis, 40% Merlot and 20% Grolleau Noir. The Pineau d'Aunis and Grolleau Noir were directly pressed. The destemmed Merlot was macerated for 6 days prior to pressing and provides most of the colour. Each variety was aged separately in stainless steel tanks then blended a month before bottling in January 2026. It is lively, fresh and fruity and, as usual, very easy to drink. - Living Wines, Importer
