PRE SALE // Giovanni Canonica Barolo Paiagallo 2022

Giovanni Canonica farms one-and-a-half hectares of vines in the Paiagallo vineyard on the hill above Barolo. He and his family run a small agriturismo, and Canonica makes his wine in the cellars below. Everything here is traditional, and it's the integrity of this process that creates wines of both great breadth and intricate delicacy. Only a tiny number of bottles are produced each year, most of which are cellar-door sales.

Giorgio says: "These wines are just so authentic and unpretentious, old school charm with great complexity and savouriness. Where Pajagallo shows more structure and masculinity, Grinzane Cavour just surprise you with prettiness."
