Pride Of Lunatics Ignimbrite Rose 2023

Merlot and syrah in rose wine. All wild fermented, spends time in old barrels. No additions, no sulphur, left on lees. Gently handled to its life in bottle. A unique project from Central Ranges focusing on a mixed agriculture, regeneratively farmed farm.

Wonderful perfume, pretty, floral (dried and fresh rose petals in a pot pourri), sour cherry, a touch of bitter orange amaro going on with some undergrowth and sooty spices gong on. Fresh to taste, bright, more bitter orange, tart acidity, a touch of hazelnut savouriness, dried herbs in the mix too. Good length, freshness and brightness, yet that savoury tone is appealing too, though it builds a little so drinking cold and quick works here. Very likeable. - winefront.com
