Tampopo Rosado Los Novios 2025

Winemaker Scott Cosgriff: Rosé with intention, from a 30 year-old vineyard where a top-grafting exercise in 2014 was only partially successful, leaving a roughly 50:50 field blend. Handpicked and pressed together, then fermented cool and raised in a seasoned puncheon. In rosé terms, the Pinot was on the riper side and the Syrah was still well under. The result is that the Syrah brings the spice and drive, and the Pinot the strawberry and jaffa flavour. It is the 2025 edition of the annual bootleg label, an emerging tradition.

Us: Delicious. Darker looking rose (rosado!) with a good deal of sour cherry, dry, savoury spice, crunch to texture and a slosh of rose hip tea character. We love these more serious styles.
