Valdisole Pandora 2024

Two sommeliers found a nebbiolo vineyard abandoned in Roero, off Craigslist no less, and have followed through Roero with an eye on regenerating older vineyards and championing lesser sung varieties from the region. The whites get macerated, the reds bright and fresh, as an ideal. A quarter riesling, a quarter traminer, then the rest is favorita. 

Lots of florals, bright tropical fruits, sea spray, wet fern, some pine needle notes, alpine herbs. Yes thanks. Exuberant personality but a restraint too, curiously, goes from very fruity to then this slate and pumice stone, hazelnut character with seaweed and pleasingly bitter herbal notes. Chewy texture, dry finish too. Exciting and evocative. - The Wine Front
