A blend of seriously, obsessively biodynamic pinot noir (85%) and chardonnay (15%), the Cuvee Elégance Extra-Brut is marked by a nose of ripe red fruits and blackcurrants. It's somewhat oxidative, and five years on lees lends a yeasty, toasty complexity to the equation. Cooked orchard and stone fruits are very much in the mix as well, and while it's labeled as 'extra-brut', it isn't shockingly dry. Fruits and flowers stay present and bright, and the finish has some hang time. Full of interest and intrigue, this is compelling drinking and ridiculous value for money.
