Dja Dja Wurrung Country
“My big brother” The more opulent counterpart to “Fèrot” my other cabernet franc, this wine was made to with intention and precision Sourced from the iconic Ex Virgin Hill block at Glenhope Vineyard planted in 1995 on granite, volcanic, and sandy loam soils, it is a wine that speaks clearly of site, season.
Undergoing wild yeast fermentation, the wine was gently extracted over a long, slow maceration spending 21 days on skins before being pressed to barrel. It was then matured for 13 months in seasoned oak, allowing the wine to evolve with purity. - Yayoi Wines
From Glenhope Vineyard in Macedon Ranges; an ex-Virgin Hills block planted in the 90s. Wild fermented, matured in older oak. Yayoi consistently quality, interesting, delicious wines – a holy trinity as such. Fine, sleek, tightly wound, great texture. Still in a greener vein, but some more purple fruit and cassis today. A little light through the amaro-tinged finish, but feels fine wine paradigm. Recommended. - The Wine Front
